The KTA tapping attachment have been designed to be in confirmity with the safety requirements of the industries.
1) Twin Chucking:- High concentricity, firm clamping, safe torque drive and large clamping range. it can accomodate standard square ended tas. the tap is clampled by two adjustable sets of jaws. The four jaw set thereby serves for the positive drive at the square of the tap, whereas the three jaws set centres the tap perfectly. The two sets of jaws move independently of each other, similar to the action of a differential drive. Therefore, the relation of the square of the tap to the round shank is insignificant for proper clamping.
Note: Small taps where square length is less than 8mm, please pull the tap by 3mm and clamp.
2) Safety Torque Clutch:- The safety clutch is infinitely variable to the required torque in regard to tap size by simply adjusting to scale. The safety clutch disengages when the present torque is exceeded. After disengagement there is almost no torque on the tap and thus the clutch suffers practically no wear. Tool breakage is thereby prevented. Blind holes can be bottom under full rotation of the spindle. Reversing the spindle, the clutch re-engages and the tap is automatically withdrawn.
Note: If the clutch is not re-engaged, it could be done manually by rotating the floating piece clock-wise for right hand tapping attachment (vice versa for left hand tapping attachment). On engagement of clutch it will sould "Click"
3) Float Radial Parallel:- this ball operated floating device guarantee threads to exact tolerance, also in case of misalignment protects the side hrust. It centres automatically after every tapping operation.
4) Length Compensation:- The length compensation is ball-cage operated and consequently, the axial movement is very smooth ecen in the maximum torque. This free axial movement prevents damage to thread flanks when the feed rate and tap pitch do not match (i.e. hand feed). It is also of advantage when cutting small threads on heavy machines. The length compensation positions at zero point and is therefore also suitable for machine feed.
Application:- For tapping operations on reversible drilling & tapping machines, lathe, capstan, etc. this tapping attachment is suitable for right hand threads only. For left hand threads on request.

Unit is lubricate with Molyoil.
Recommendation:- Use direct cutting oil for tapping operation and not water soluble oil.
